My problem with the system is the financial aid based on parents income for most students. First, some students whose parents do well financially dont see a dime from them for college, but the student has to use their parents income to determine how much grant/scholarship money they get. Second, students with divorced parents get an advantage b/c they always claim that they are living with the parent with the lowest income. EX. Mom makes 20,000 a year, dad makes 80,000 a year, they’re married and kid gets no financial aid. Same incomes, but parents divorced, kid goes to college for next to n (more…)
