Open Question: mom in nursing home what is my financial responsiblities since they had me sign papers so fast?
I live in Pa. My mom went into hospital for surgery, good to bad, now one month later bed at hospital is needed bed at nursing home available but it had to be that day. I went to nursing home and found myself signing all kinds of papers because they said they needed to do this today or i could lose bed for her. Did I sign anything that makes me responsible for her financially? They said she has a grant and then when that runs out they will come for her home. no husband only child. Is there a way to sell home and keep some profit for college for kids? Or not have them take home? What if sh did not have one? Am I going to have to pay for her care which will be forever now? I am so scared I screwed up and signed away my children’s future. Please help me quick. Cant sleep. Just happened yesterday 9-27-07
