As a work-study in college, I received the federal minimum wage ($5.15/hour). I saw that the minimum wage increase was passed by Congress; if it goes all the way through, I want to know if I (and my fellow work studies) will receive a raise per hour. My pay does come from a grant, but I could work less and draw the same amount of money if my wage per hour was increased. (more…)
My father was married to my mother for 10 years and left my mother for his current wife. He was never there for me after he married this new woman because she wanted him to have no contact with his “past”. She gets mad when i call my father even today. Now her and my father have three children together and their oldest is about to graduate and my father is going to pay for this child to go to college. I had to get pill grants and live off of roman noodles and work a minimium wage job to get through college. His other daughter is going to get her college paid for her.
